Beginning Friday morning and until further notice, some bus routes for Blades, Bernard and Oakville High will be changing due to a bridge problem on Baumgartner Road, between Heintz Road and Birch Mount Place. The bridge has been deemed unsafe for traffic. For homes in that area, the District will use the same alternative bus stops that were created during the winter floods. The pick up and drop off times remain the same, but slight delays could occur due to the detour. Thank you in advance for your understanding and patience.
Mehlville-Oakville Foundation
The Mehlville/Oakville School District Foundation is a not-for-profit (501c3) corporation, organized by community members in 1989 to promote and sponsor educational activities not included in the Mehlville School District budget.

The Foundation supports the District in four ways:
  • The Foundation supplies money to pay teachers for after school tutoring for students at risk. Funds are allocated to all schools in the district based on the number of students attending each school.
  • The Foundation provides mini-grants to teachers for innovative lesson plans and classroom activities that enhance the learning process for students.
  • The Foundation provides one scholarship to a high school senior at each high school each year and coordinates several other specially funded scholarships.
  • The Foundation shares fund raising money with each participating school for special educational programs and additional tutoring.

MOF & MRE & MNEA Scholarships Application Now Available
The Mehlville-Oakville Foundation, the Mehlville Retired Educators (MRE) and the Mehlville National Education Association (MNEA) are all offering scholarships. The three organizations utilize one scholarship application form to streamline the process for the students. The basic information only needs to be compiled one time but the student must do the specific essay requirement for each scholarship. Students may check and apply for more than one scholarship, as long as the student meets the requirements. The deadline for all scholarships is Friday, March 11, 2016. Click HERE for application.
MOF Prize Patrol Surprises Winners
On Monday, Nov. 23, the Mehlville-Oakville Foundation had two prize patrols visit schools to award 25 mini-grants worth $8,620 to district teachers. It was so rewarding to see the excitement and happiness on the faces of the teachers who will use these funds to enhance the lessons for their students. Click here to read more. MOF Recognition Reception
The Mehlville-Oakville Foundation held its Recognition Reception Monday April 20, 2015, at Andres Banquet Center. The reception recognizes the scholarship recipients and their families. Also, at the reception some of the teachers that received mini-grants or school grants made presentations about the educational activities that the funds provided. Many grants this year focused on the subject of science and the inclusion of the whole family into the learning process.

Other special donors, business contributors and volunteers were also recognized. Click here to view the program for more details. Click here to view slideshow of scholarship recipients.

2015 Scholarship Winners
The Mehlville-Oakville Foundation has selected the winners of the scholarships administered by the MOF. All names are blanked out on the scholarship applications to ensure anonymity of the applicant. All scholarships are reviewed by three scholarship committee judges and the results compiled to select the recipient. The judges commented that this was a difficult job as the applicants were all well qualified. This reflects positively on the quality of the education these students have received in the Mehlville School District. Congratulations to the winners. The Foundation recognized the recipients at a banquet on Monday, April 20. Click here to view slideshow.
